As fathers of family, what do we promote in our home? (Part I)

Isaiah 54:17
"No tool that is made to fight against you will do well. And you will prove wrong every tongue that says you are guilty. This is the gift given to the servants of the Lord. I take away their guilt and make them right,” says the Lord."

Constantly in our services we hear the preacher says Bible promises over the congregation, after this we can hear a great ovation and some saying "Amen" ... For example, how many times have we heard "But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”" ?. .. Here is the verse:
"If you think it is wrong to serve the Lord, choose today whom you will serve. Choose the gods your fathers worshiped on the other side of the river, or choose the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living. But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.”" (Joshua 24:15)
Undoubtedly, this is a great promise for a father of family ... but very few really believe it and decide to live it ...
But what is happening then with the fathers of family? Let's read ...
"Obey the Word of God. If you hear only and do not act, you are only fooling yourself. Anyone who hears the Word of God and does not obey is like a man looking at his face in a mirror. After he sees himself and goes away, he forgets what he looks like. But the one who keeps looking into God’s perfect Law and does not forget it will do what it says and be happy as he does it. God’s Word makes men free." (James 1: 22-25). Unfortunately, many of us forget these promises!
And why do we forget them? Let's read ...
"This book of the Law must not leave your mouth. Think about it day and night, so you may be careful to do all that is written in it. Then all will go well with you. You will receive many good things." (Joshua 1: 8) ... We forget them because many of us wait to go to church just to open the Bible there and remember these promises ...
And why do not we meditate the Word of God in our homes? Let's read ...
"The seed that was planted among thorns is like some people who listen to the Word. But the cares of this life let thorns come up. A love for riches and always wanting other things let thorns grow. These things do not give the Word room to grow so it does not give grain." (Mark 4: 18-19)... We do not meditate the Word of God in our homes because we are so busy that we do not have time to read the Bible ... ¿Does will deserve this our family?

To be continued...

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
