As fathers of family, what do we promote in our home? (Part II)
Isaiah 54:17
"No tool that is made to fight against you will do well. And you will prove wrong every tongue that says you are guilty. This is the gift given to the servants of the Lord. I take away their guilt and make them right,” says the Lord."
"No tool that is made to fight against you will do well. And you will prove wrong every tongue that says you are guilty. This is the gift given to the servants of the Lord. I take away their guilt and make them right,” says the Lord."
Do we want to change this?
If so, it is time to understand that as parents we have a great responsibility before God for our home ... We must assume the commitment that God has entrusted us as heads of household. If we would like to do it we can start with the following 4 steps:
1. Let us promote the reading of the Word of God in our home: "Keep these words in your heart that I am telling you today. Do your best to teach them to your children. Talk about them when you sit in your house and when you walk on the road and when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as something special to see on your hand and on your forehead. Write them beside the door of your house and on your gates." (Deuteronomy 6: 6-9) Do we want life for our family? "But Jesus said, “It is written, ‘Man is not to live on bread only. Man is to live by every word that God speaks.’”" (Matthew 4: 4) ... As a family we need to meditate on the Word of God!
2. Let us pray to God in our home: "Never stop praying. In everything give thanks. This is what God wants you to do because of Christ Jesus." (1 Thessalonians 5:17-18), "Even before I speak a word, O Lord, You know it all." (Psalm 139: 4) It is vitally important that our family can understand that in God there is a desire to hear us, to speak to us, to guide us, and to instruct us, and all of this can be achieved through prayer ... It would be very sad not to share this to them ... "Anyone who does not take care of his family and those in his house has turned away from the faith. He is worse than a person who has never put his trust in Christ." (1 Timothy 5: 8) ... Pray together to God is a good start to agree as a family!
3. Let us promote that God is absolutely Wise to guide us in the decisions of our home: "Unless the Lord builds the house, its builders work for nothing. Unless the Lord watches over the city, the men who watch over it stay awake for nothing." (Psalm 127: 1), "‘Call to Me, and I will answer you. And I will show you great and wonderful things which you do not know.’" (Jeremiah 33: 3) In our home we must promote the important of to consult God every plan, project, dream before executing it because He will always have the best way for us to do it. "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not trust in your own understanding. Agree with Him in all your ways, and He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and turn away from what is sinful. It will be healing to your body and medicine to your bones." (Proverbs 3: 5-8) ... What we least want is to make bad decisions and only a bad decision can have serious consequences!
4. Let us promote that God is Omnipresent: "“Am I a God Who is near,” says the Lord, “and not a God Who is far away? Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him?” says the Lord. “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord." (Jeremiah 23: 23-24) Usually our family knows that God sees everything, but it is necessary that they also know that God is also Omnipresent to hear us in any way, moment, place, time, and He will never have complain so as not to attend us, rather "And it will be before they call, I will answer. While they are still speaking, I will hear." (Isaiah 65:24)
Many of us have a habit of reading the newspaper, watching news, watching sports, listening to music, etc. But what about the responsibility that God entrusted to us? Do we start scheduling this vital need?
As parents, what do we promote in our home?
God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
