¿Who is your ... god?
Acts 19:23-28
'During that time there was much trouble about the Christians. A man named Demetrius made small silver buildings for the worship of Diana. His workmen received much money for their work. He called his workmen together and other men who made these small silver buildings. He said to them, “Men, you know we make much money from this work. Now you hear that Paul has turned away many people in Ephesus as well as in Asia. He tells them that gods made with hands are not gods. It could be that our work will not be respected. Not only that, the house of worship for the god of Diana will be worth nothing and her greatness will be destroyed. All the countries of Asia and the world worship her.” They became angry when they heard this and cried out, “Great is Diana of Ephesus.”' (Deuteronomy 3:24)We must understand that if something is occupying the first place in our heart, and it is not the Lord, we have unfortunately fallen into idolatry.
The Bible guides us in this point:
"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ This is the first Law." (Mark 12:30)
The Lord as our Creator yearns for us to worship Him, to love Him, and to surrender ourselves just to Him.
¿Why?
"Every house is built by someone. And God is the One Who has built everything." (Hebrews 3:4)
"Everything comes from Him. His power keeps all things together. All things are made for Him. May He be honored forever. Let it be so." (Romans 11:36)
Because we are his creation, and creation needs to be with his Creator. We can not change the order.
We are not created to worship creation instead of Creator!
"“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you? He wants you to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him. He wants you to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul. He wants you to keep all the Laws of the Lord which I am telling you today for your good." (Deuteronomy 10:12-13)
"For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for well-being and not for trouble, to give you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will look for Me and find Me, when you look for Me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:11-13)
Today is a good day to examine ourselves and ask ourselves: ¿Is there a god in our heart or is the Lord?
God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
