Are we masochists? (Part III)

2 Peter 2: 21-22
"After knowing the holy Law that was given to them, they turned from it. It would have been better for them if they had not known how to be right with God. They are like the wise saying, “A dog turns back to what he has thrown up.” And, “A pig that has been washed goes back to roll in the mud.”"

7. Does it please us to be hurt ?: "He paid a great price for you when He bought you. Do not let yourselves become servants owned by men. Christian brothers, each one should stay as he was when he became a Christian." (1 Corinthians 7: 23-24)
And ... 8. Do we consider ourselves a little thing? ... Right here it is propitious to remember the value that we have in God:
A.  We have been found: "He found him in a desert land, in the empty waste of a desert. He came around him and cared for him. He kept him as He would His own eye." (Deuteronomy 32:10)
B. Called to be new creatures: "For if a man belongs to Christ, he is a new person. The old life is gone. New life has begun." (2 Corinthians 5:17)
C. We have been forgiven: "I pray that you will be giving thanks to the Father. He has made it so you could share the good things given to those who belong to Christ who are in the light. God took us out of a life of darkness. He has put us in the holy nation of His much-loved Son. We have been bought by His blood and made free. Our sins are forgiven through Him." (Colossians 1: 12-14)
D. We have been bought: "Do you not know that your body is a house of God where the Holy Spirit lives? God gave you His Holy Spirit. Now you belong to God. You do not belong to yourselves. God bought you with a great price. So honor God with your body. You belong to Him." (1 Corinthians 6: 19-20).
E. Constituted by head and not tail: "The Lord will make you the head and not the tail. If you listen to the Laws of the Lord your God which I tell you today and be careful to obey them, you will only be above and not below." (Deuteronomy 28:13).
F. We have been constituted victorious: "Every child of God has power over the sins of the world. The way we have power over the sins of the world is by our faith. Who could have power over the world except by believing that Jesus is the Son of God?" (1 John 5: 4-5)
G. We have been established as more than conquerors: "But we have power over all these things through Jesus Who loves us so much. For I know that nothing can keep us from the love of God. Death cannot! Life cannot! Angels cannot! Leaders cannot! Any other power cannot! Hard things now or in the future cannot! The world above or the world below cannot! Any other living thing cannot keep us away from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 8: 37-39)
H. Complete Acts in God: "For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily, and ye are complete in him, who is the head of all principality and power" (Colossians 2: 9-10)
I. We have been established as accepted, blessed, holy... Children of God: "Let us honor and thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has already given us a taste of what heaven is like. Even before the world was made, God chose us for Himself because of His love. He planned that we should be holy and without blame as He sees us. God already planned to have us as His own children. This was done by Jesus Christ. In His plan God wanted this done. We thank God for His loving-favor to us. He gave this loving-favor to us through His much-loved Son. Because of the blood of Christ, we are bought and made free from the punishment of sin. And because of His blood, our sins are forgiven. His loving-favor to us is so rich. He was so willing to give all of this to us. He did this with wisdom and understanding. God told us the secret of what He wanted to do. It is this: In loving thought He planned long ago to send Christ into the world. The plan was for Christ to gather us all together at the right time. If we are in heaven or still on earth, He will bring us together and will be head over all." (Ephesians 1: 3-10)
If God has given us all this ... Why then be masochists? There is no gain in this only we found contempt, death and destruction ...
Brothers, "God has chosen you. You are holy and loved by Him..." (Colossians 3:12)
What do you think? Do we get out of masochism and accede to the invitation of the Father?

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
