Ungrateful and irresponsible toward God? (Part II)

2 Chronicles 24: 17-24
"But after the death of Jehoiada, the leaders of Judah came and bowed down in front of the king. And the king listened to them. They left the house of the Lord the God of their fathers, and worshiped the false gods of Asherah and the objects made to look like them. So anger came upon Judah and Jerusalem because of their sin. Yet God sent men who speak for God to bring them back to the Lord. These men of God spoke against them, but they would not listen. Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the religious leader. He stood where he could be seen by the people and said to them, “God says, ‘Why do you sin against the Laws of the Lord, and bring trouble on yourselves? Because you have left the Lord, He has left you.’” So they made plans against him. At the king’s word, they killed Zechariah with stones in the open space of the Lord’s house. So Joash the king did not remember the kindness his father Jehoiada had shown him, but he killed his son. And when Zechariah was dying, he said, “May the Lord see and punish!” At the end of the year the army of the Syrians came up against Joash. They came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the leaders of the people. And they sent all they had taken in battle to the king of Damascus. The army of the Syrians came with a small number of men. But the Lord let them win against a very large army. Because the people of Judah and Jerusalem had turned away from the Lord, the God of their fathers. So the Syrians were used to punish Joash."

2. Incredulity: "Thomas was not with them when Jesus came. He was one of the twelve followers and was called the Twin. The other followers told him, “We have seen the Lord!” He said to them, “I will not believe until I see the marks made by the nails in His hands. I will not believe until I put my finger into the marks of the nails. I will not believe until I put my hand into His side.”" (John 20: 24-25). When our faith the sin of unbelief begins to germinate and right here we find it difficult to understand if we are not seeing it ... However, the Word of the Lord invites us to that supernatural plane of learning to believe and to trust that there is hope ... for example , "Because of this, we work hard and do our best because our hope is in the living God, the One Who would save all men. He saves those who believe in Him. Tell people that this is what they must do." (1 Timothy 4: 10-11) Will we have to see to believe, or better believe to be able to see?
3. Insensitivity: "He turned to the woman and said to Simon, “Do you see this woman? I came into your house and you gave Me no water to wash My feet. She washed My feet with her tears and dried them with the hairs of her head. You gave me no kiss, but this woman has kissed my feet from the time I came in. You did not put even oil on My head but this woman has put special perfume on My feet." (Luke 7: 44-46) ... When we do not believe in the redemptive work of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross of Calvary, it is easy for us to be filled with insensitivity for others, that is to say, we forgot to evangelize ... "For I was hungry but you did not give Me food to eat. I was thirsty but you did not give Me water to drink. I was a stranger but you did not give Me a room. I had no clothes but you did not give Me clothes. I was sick and in prison but you did not come to see Me.’ “Then they will ask, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger? When did we see You without clothes or sick or in prison and did not care for You?’ Then He will say to them, ‘For sure, I tell you, because you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’" (Matthew 25: 42-45) Has our heart hardened? When was the last time we shared Christ?
4. Sin: "They did know God, but they did not honor Him as God. They were not thankful to Him and thought only of foolish things. Their foolish minds became dark."  (Romans 1:21). Without faith is impossible to please God, without faith we are exposed to sin, without faith we will not recognize God as our Father, our King, our authority ... "Christian brothers, be careful that not one of you has a heart so bad that it will not believe and will turn away from the living God. Help each other. Speak day after day to each other while it is still today so your heart will not become hard by being fooled by sin." (Hebrews 3: 12-13) ... Therefore, "What does this mean? Are we to keep on sinning so that God will give us more of His loving-favor? No, not at all! We are dead to sin. How then can we keep on living in sin?" (Romans 6: 1-2) How long have we been like this?

Are we being ungrateful and irresponsible toward God?

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
