Do we admire and respect God? (Part I)

Deuteronomy 10: 12-13
"“And now, Israel, what does the Lord your God ask of you? He wants you to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways and love Him. He wants you to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and all your soul. He wants you to keep all the Laws of the Lord which I am telling you today for your good."

Throughout the Word of God we can find again and again how the Lord demands to obey His precepts and commandments for the simple reason that this is convenient for us. (Joshua 1: 8, Deuteronomy 28: 1, Acts 5:32, John 14:23, James 1:25, 1 Peter 2: 21 ...) However, it is our decision if we wish to walk this path with the fear of God, since many long to do so but their facts reveal the opposite. "Sin speaks to the sinful man within his heart. There is no fear of God in his eyes. For he makes much of himself in his own eyes. So his sin is not known and hated. The words of his mouth are sinful and false. He has stopped being wise and doing good. He plans wrong-doing upon his bed. He sets himself on a path that is not good. He does not hate what is bad." (Psalm 36: 1-4). It is necessary to understand that the concept of fear that we know differs totally from what is the fear of God. For example, we can find several definitions in the Word of God, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. All who obey His Laws have good understanding. His praise lasts forever." (Psalms 111: 10) to gain wisdom, "The last word, after all has been heard, is: Honor God and obey His Laws. This is all that every person must do." (Ecclesiastes 12:13) respect, "Since we have these great promises, dear friends, let us turn away from every sin of the body or of the spirit. Let us honor God with love and fear by giving ourselves to Him in every way." (2 Corinthians 7: 1) holyness, "Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and turn away from what is sinful. 8 It will be healing to your body and medicine to your bones." (Proverbs 3: 7-8) healing ... But the fear of God also includes that we respect and admire God. Why should we admire and respect God?:
1. Because He is faithful: "The Lord will finish the work He started for me. O Lord, Your loving-kindness lasts forever. Do not turn away from the works of Your hands." (Psalm 138: 8), "If some of them were not faithful, does it mean that God will not be faithful? No, not at all! God is always true even if every man lies. The Holy Writings say, “Speak the truth and you will not be proven guilty.”" (Romans 3: 3-4), "Every good promise which the Lord had made to the people of Israel came true." (Joshua 21:45) Does anyone deserve our admiration for being faithful and how much more do we consider that God deserves our admiration for being faithful?
2. Because He is righteous: "If we tell Him our sins, He is faithful and we can depend on Him to forgive us of our sins. He will make our lives clean from all sin." (1 John 1: 9), "Will not God make the things that are right come to His chosen people who cry day and night to Him? Will He wait a long time to help them?" (Luke 18: 7), "“God did not remember these times when people did not know better. But now He tells all men everywhere to be sorry for their sins and to turn from them. He has set a day when He will say in the right way if the people of the world are guilty. This will be done by Jesus Christ, the One He has chosen. God has proven this to all men by raising Jesus Christ from the dead.”" (Acts 17: 30-31), "Do not be fooled. You cannot fool God. A man will get back whatever he plants!" (Galatians 6: 7) If king Solomon deserves our respect for the decision he took in the history of the two women and the child (1 Kings 3: 16-28), how much more does the Lord deserve admiration and respect who was who gave wisdom to king Solomon (1 Kings 3: 6-10)?

To be continued ...

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
