Should we remember manners and responsibilities? (Part I)
"Then he left there and went to Bethel. On the way, some young boys came out from the city and made fun of him. They said to him, “Go up, you man with no hair! Go up, you man with no hair!” He looked behind him and saw them, and cursed them in the name of the Lord. Then two female bears came from among the trees and tore up forty-two of the boys."
From very young we are taught certain guidelines in order that when we grow up, let us be altruistic and life does not give us so hard with its different calamities. If we summarize these guidelines, we could note that "good manners" and "taking responsibility" for ourselves and others will help us to open doors always, and obviously, to lead a life of ease. In addition to this, our parents knew when to reward us or at what time admonish us and this was given according to the range of values and guidelines taught. Could it be that today we could mention 3 good manners that characterize us and 3 of our main responsibilities? Where will these manners and responsibilities come from? Let's look at a few:
1. Do we greet when we enter and say goodbye when we leave a place ?: "Greet each other with a kiss of holy love. All the churches here greet you." (Romans 16:16), "The churches in the countries of Asia say hello. Aquila and Priscilla and the Christians who meet in their house say hello with Christian love. All the Christians here greet you. Greet each other with a kiss of holy love." (1 Corinthians 16: 19-20), "When the noise had come to an end, Paul called the followers to him. He spoke words of comfort and then said good-bye. He left to go to the country of Macedonia." (Acts 20: 1)
2. Do we give thanks? "In everything give thanks. This is what God wants you to do because of Christ Jesus." (1 Thessalonians 5:18), "As you have put your trust in Christ Jesus the Lord to save you from the punishment of sin, now let Him lead you in every step. 7 Have your roots planted deep in Christ. Grow in Him. Get your strength from Him. Let Him make you strong in the faith as you have been taught. Your life should be full of thanks to Him." (Colossians 2: 6-7), "Let the peace of Christ have power over your hearts. You were chosen as a part of His body. Always be thankful. Let the teaching of Christ and His words keep on living in you. These make your lives rich and full of wisdom. Keep on teaching and helping each other. Sing the Songs of David and the church songs and the songs of heaven with hearts full of thanks to God. Whatever you say or do, do it in the name of the Lord Jesus. Give thanks to God the Father through the Lord Jesus." (Colossians 3: 15-17).
