Does it depend on us that our names remain written in the Book of Life? (Part II)
Revelation 3:5
“Everyone who has power and wins will wear white clothes. I will not take his name from the book of life. I will speak of his name before My Father and His angels.”
“Everyone who has power and wins will wear white clothes. I will not take his name from the book of life. I will speak of his name before My Father and His angels.”
But how is it possible to be holy and more when evil surrounds us? Is this possible today?
Of course! An example would be having a close relationship before the Lord "Look through me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. See if there is any sinful way in me and lead me in the way that lasts forever." (Psalm 139: 23-24), making the decision to turn us from evil "Look through me, O God, and know my heart. Try me and know my thoughts. See if there is any sinful way in me and lead me in the way that lasts forever." (Romans 6:22) and living according to the Word of God "How can a young man keep his way pure? By living by Your Word." (Psalm 119: 9).
It is up to us whether our names remain written in the Book of Life, we make the decision to walk in holiness or not, yet we must know that God is just and has given an opinion on this "You get what is coming to you when you sin. It is death! But God’s free gift is life that lasts forever. It is given to us by our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 6:23) ... For example, the Word of God relates that "The next day Moses said to the people, “You have sinned. Now I am going up to the Lord. It might be that I can have your sin forgiven.”Then Moses returned to the Lord and said, “O, this people have sinned. They have made a god of gold for themselves. But now, if You will, forgive their sin. If not, then take my name out of Your book which You have written.” The Lord said to Moses, “I will put out of My book whoever has sinned against Me." (Exodus 32: 30-33) ... We understand that "The person who sins will die. The son will not be punished for the father’s sin. And the father will not be punished for the son’s sin. The right and good man will receive good, and the sinful man will suffer for his sin." (Ezekiel 18:20), so it is normal that "May they be taken out of the book of life, and not be written down with those who are right with You." (Psalm 69:28).
On one occasion when Jesus' disciples returned joyfully when the demons were held fast for them, Jesus warned them "Even so, you should not be happy because the demons obey you but be happy because your names are written in heaven.”" (Luke 10:20 )
We can not underestimate that "“At that time the great angel Michael, who watches over your people, will rise up. And there will be a time of trouble, the worst since there was a nation. But at that time, every one whose name is written in the Book will be taken out of the trouble. Many of those who sleep in the dust of the earth will wake up. Some will have life that lasts forever, but others will have shame and will suffer much forever. Those who are wise will shine like the bright heavens. And those who lead many to do what is right and good will shine like the stars forever and ever." (Daniel 12: 1-3).
What decision will we make?
We all have a due date and "Everyone who has power and wins will wear white clothes. I will not take his name from the book of life. I will speak of his name before My Father and His angels." (Revelation 3: 5) ... otherwise "Then I saw a great white throne. I saw the One Who sat on it. The earth and the heaven left Him in a hurry and they could be found no more. I saw all the dead people standing before God. There were great people and small people. The books were opened. Then another book was opened. It was the book of life. The dead people were judged by what they had done as it was written in the books. The sea gave up the dead people who were in it. Death and hell gave up the dead people who were in them. Each one was judged by what he had done. Then death and hell were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death. If anyone’s name was not written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20: 11-15)
A regrettable end not? What do you think?...
