¿In a vicious circle? (Part II)
John 5:5-14
'A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years. Jesus saw him lying there and knew the man had been sick a long time. Jesus said to him, “Would you like to be healed?” The sick man said, “Sir, I have no one to put me in the pool when the water is moving. While I am coming, another one gets in first.” Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your bed and walk.” At once the man was healed and picked up his bed and walked. This happened on the Day of Rest. The Jews said to the man who had been healed, “This is the Day of Rest. It is against the Law for you to carry your bed.” He said to them, “The Man Who healed me said to me, ‘Pick up your bed and walk.’ Then the Jews asked him, “What man said to you, ‘Pick up your bed and walk’?” The man who had been healed did not know Who He was. Jesus had gone away while many people were there. Later Jesus found the man who had been healed in the house of God. He said to him, “Listen! You have been healed. Stop sinning or something worse will come to you.”'* ¿What is it? and ¿Who is the Truth?: "Jesus said, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one can go to the Father except by Me." (John 14:6)
* Why should we know the Truth?: "This is life that lasts forever. It is to know You, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ Whom You have sent." (John 17:3)
* And where do we find more of Jesus ?: "But as for you, hold on to what you have learned and know to be true. Remember where you learned them. You have known the Holy Writings since you were a child. They are able to give you wisdom that leads to being saved from the punishment of sin by putting your trust in Christ Jesus." (2 Timothy 3:14-15)
* ¿In the Bible? ¿Why?: "God’s Word is living and powerful. It is sharper than a sword that cuts both ways. It cuts straight into where the soul and spirit meet and it divides them. It cuts into the joints and bones. It tells what the heart is thinking about and what it wants to do. No one can hide from God. His eyes see everything we do. We must give an answer to God for what we have done. " (Hebrews 4:12-13).
* ¿Why should we also know the Bible?: "Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." (Psalm 119:105).
* ¿What should we do with the Bible?: "I will think about Your Law and have respect for Your ways. I will be glad in Your Law. I will not forget Your Word." (Psalm 119:15-16).
* The Bible is the Word of God ... ¿Why should we meditate on the Word of God?: "This book of the Law must not leave your mouth. Think about it day and night, so you may be careful to do all that is written in it. Then all will go well with you. You will receive many good things." (Joshua 1:8)
* ¿And how will this help us to come out of vicious circles?: "All the Holy Writings are God-given and are made alive by Him. Man is helped when he is taught God’s Word. It shows what is wrong. It changes the way of a man’s life. It shows him how to be right with God. It gives the man who belongs to God everything he needs to work well for Him." (2 Timothy 3:16-17), "Anyone who lives on milk cannot understand the teaching about being right with God. He is a baby. Solid food is for full-grown men. They have learned to use their minds to tell the difference between good and bad." (Hebrews 5:13-14)
* So that we will acquire understanding to know what is good and bad. ¿What is the purpose?: "Get your minds ready for good use. Keep awake. Set your hope now and forever on the loving-favor to be given you when Jesus Christ comes again. Be like children who obey. Do not desire to sin like you used to when you did not know any better. Be holy in every part of your life. Be like the Holy One Who chose you. The Holy Writings say, “You must be holy, for I am holy.”" (1 Peter 1:13-16)
* ¿Why does God want us to be saints?: "Be at peace with all men. Live a holy life. No one will see the Lord without having that kind of life." (Hebrews 12:14)
* But ¿how can we get to that Truth that is Jesus Christ to be able to leave the vicious circles?: "The Holy Spirit is coming. He will lead you into all truth. He will not speak His Own words. He will speak what He hears. He will tell you of things to come." (John 16:13)
* And ¿Where is the Holy Spirit?
To be continued...
God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
