¿In a vicious circle? (Part III)
John 5:5-14
'A man was there who had been sick for thirty-eight years. Jesus saw him lying there and knew the man had been sick a long time. Jesus said to him, “Would you like to be healed?” The sick man said, “Sir, I have no one to put me in the pool when the water is moving. While I am coming, another one gets in first.” Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your bed and walk.” At once the man was healed and picked up his bed and walked. This happened on the Day of Rest. The Jews said to the man who had been healed, “This is the Day of Rest. It is against the Law for you to carry your bed.” He said to them, “The Man Who healed me said to me, ‘Pick up your bed and walk.’ Then the Jews asked him, “What man said to you, ‘Pick up your bed and walk’?” The man who had been healed did not know Who He was. Jesus had gone away while many people were there. Later Jesus found the man who had been healed in the house of God. He said to him, “Listen! You have been healed. Stop sinning or something worse will come to you.”'* This is so beautiful, but we have done so much evil ...: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Whoever puts his trust in God’s Son will not be lost but will have life that lasts forever. For God did not send His Son into the world to say it is guilty. He sent His Son so the world might be saved from the punishment of sin by Him." (John 3:16-17)
* Of course, this makes us ashamed of what we have done. But ¿What can we do?: "If we say that we have no sin, we lie to ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we tell Him our sins, He is faithful and we can depend on Him to forgive us of our sins. He will make our lives clean from all sin." (1 John 1:8-9).
* ¿Confess our sins?: "This is what it says, “The Good News is near you. It is in your mouth and in your heart.” This Good News tells about putting your trust in Christ. This is what we preach to you. If you say with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved from the punishment of sin. When we believe in our hearts, we are made right with God. We tell with our mouth how we were saved from the punishment of sin. The Holy Writings say, “No one who puts his trust in Christ will ever be put to shame.”" (Romans 10:8-11)
* Yes, but our heart these vicious circles have destroyed it and our life is so dirty ...: "Then I will put clean water on you, and you will be clean. I will make you clean from all your unclean ways and from all your false gods. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will take away your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to follow My Laws and be careful to do what I tell you." (Ezekiel 36:25-27)
* Lord ¿Do you want to do that for us ?: "... I want to. Be healed." (Mark 1:41b)
* ¿Why would you do that ?: "For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son. Whoever puts his trust in God’s Son will not be lost but will have life that lasts forever. For God did not send His Son into the world to say it is guilty. He sent His Son so the world might be saved from the punishment of sin by Him." (John 3:16-17). Further, "The Lord came to us from far away, saying, “I have loved you with a love that lasts forever. So I have helped you come to Me with loving-kindness." (Jeremiah 31:3). One occasion "Jesus went on to all the towns and cities. He taught in their places of worship. He preached the Good News of the holy nation of God. He healed every sickness and disease the people had. As He saw many people, He had loving-pity on them. They were troubled and were walking around everywhere. They were like sheep without a shepherd." (Matthew 9:35-36) but "... I came so they might have life, a great full life. “I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd gives His life for the sheep." (John 10:10b-11)... "So do not be afraid. You are more important than many small birds. “Whoever makes Me known in front of men, I will make him known to My Father in heaven." (Matthew 10:31-32) ¿Are you tired?
* Yes ...: "“Come to Me, all of you who work and have heavy loads. I will give you rest. Follow My teachings and learn from Me. I am gentle and do not have pride. You will have rest for your souls. For My way of carrying a load is easy and My load is not heavy.”" (Matthew 11:28-30)
Now that we know this, ¿Do we want to follow or leave our vicious circles?
Cheer up! "For God did not give us a spirit of fear. He gave us a spirit of power and of love and of a good mind." (2 Timothy 1:7)
God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
