¿Do we seek God only when things go wrong? (Part I)

2 Chronicles 15:1-2
'The Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded. Azariah went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you look for Him, He will let you find Him. But if you leave Him, He will leave you.'

We often live thinking that we have control of everything, but in the twinkling of an eye life gets on top of us ... It's here where we incredibly go back to church and remember God and ask him questions such as : Lord ¿why to me? Lord, ¿why did you allow this to happen to me? Lord, ¿why did not you do anything to avoid this? ... Or the other side of the coin: Lord help me! Lord, get me out of this! Lord, ¿why did not you do something ?!
A clear representation of this is summed up in the Judges book with the people of Israel.

What if the Lord ask us: ¿Have you ever asked me about that idea before you make a decision? ¿When did you consult me about it in prayer? ¿When did we agree?
You know? The Bible teaches us that "It is bad for those who are wise in their own eyes, and who think they know a lot!" (Isaiah 5:21), "Do not be wise in your own eyes. Fear the Lord and turn away from what is sinful." (Proverbs 3:7), "Do you see a man who is wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him." (Proverbs 26:12)
Yes! We have free will, "I call heaven and earth to speak against you today. I have put in front of you life and death, the good and the curse. So choose life so you and your children after you may live. Love the Lord your God and obey His voice. Hold on to Him. For He is your life, and by Him your days will be long. You will be allowed to live in the land the Lord promised to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.”"
(Deuteronomy 30:19-20) ... but this is not enough for us; Key is to understand that we have limitations! That's why our understanding and knowledge is limited!
We do not know what will happen tomorrow (James 4:13-16), we do not know what eagerness today brings (Matthew 6:25-34) as for to leave our lives in the direction of hunches, feelings and decisions to the Light (Jeremiah 17:9)...

So... ¿Do we seek God only when things go wrong? ¿What does the Bible suggest?:
1. The Bible teaches us that by seeking God we have the way open to ask for wisdom and to gain understanding: "Sinful men do not understand what is right and fair, but those who look to the Lord understand all things." (Proverbs 28:5), "If you do not have wisdom, ask God for it. He is always ready to give it to you and will never say you are wrong for asking." (James 1:5)

To be continued...

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
