Obstacle in the prayers
1 Pedro 3:7
"In the same way, husbands should understand and respect their wives, because women are weaker than men. Remember, both husband and wife are to share together the gift of life that lasts forever. If this is not done, you will find it hard to pray."
Generally 1 Peter 3:7 is usually directed toward husbands, exhorting us to treat the woman as a more fragile vessel, but for some strange circumstance we forget the end of the verse and this is what we will emphasize today.
¿Why we often do not see the answer of our prayers?
Let's look at the following points that give us the Word of the Lord:
1. ¿How do we intend to pray to the Lord if there is no faith in us?: "All things you ask for in prayer, you will receive if you have faith.”" (Matthew 21:22), "You must have faith as you ask Him. You must not doubt. Anyone who doubts is like a wave which is pushed around by the sea." (James 1:6).
2. ¿Do we pray for the one who has hurt us?: "When you stand to pray, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him. Then your Father in heaven will forgive your sins also. If you do not forgive them their sins, your Father in heaven will not forgive your sins.”" (Mark 11:25-26).
3. In a restaurant, ¿Would we receive a soup with a fly? In the same way, ¿Would the Lord receive our prayers if there is sin in our hearts?: "The Lord will not hear me if I hold on to sin in my heart." (Psalm 66:18)
4. ¿What to say about the superb people (haughty, miserly, arrogant, vain, proud, haughty, overestimate ourselves )... : "But He gives us more loving-favor. For the Holy Writings say, “God works against the proud but gives loving-favor to those who have no pride.”" (James 4:6), "He who shuts his ears to the cry of the poor will also cry himself and not be answered." (Proverbs 21:13)
5. ¿Do we keep Lord's precepts and commandments? Are we obedient?: "Dear friends, if our heart does not say that we are wrong, we will have no fear as we stand before Him. We will receive from Him whatever we ask if we obey Him and do what He wants."(1 John 3:21-22)
6. And now if, ¿How are we with our spouse?: "In the same way, husbands should understand and respect their wives, because women are weaker than men. Remember, both husband and wife are to share together the gift of life that lasts forever. If this is not done, you will find it hard to pray." (1 Peter 3:7), "Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every nation divided into groups that fight each other is going to be destroyed. Every city or family divided into groups that fight each other will not stand."(Matthew 12:25), "Again I tell you this: If two of you agree on earth about anything you pray for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven." (Matthew 18:19).
¿Have we been praying to the Lord for something particular which we see that we have not received an answer?
If we have simply fulfilled the above, let us not worry, we are in the Lord's time, otherwise today is a good day to analyze how we are doing and how we are praying.
