Why do we believe and tell ourselves over and over that we do not serve? (Part I)
Matthew 15: 15-20
"Then Peter said to Jesus, “Tell us this picture-story so we can understand it.” Jesus said, “Do you not understand yet? Do you not understand that whatever goes into the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But whatever comes from the mouth has come out of the heart. These things make the man unclean inside. For out of the heart come bad thoughts, killing other people, sex sins of a married person, sex sins of a person not married, stealing, lying, speaking against God. These are the things that make the man unclean inside. It does not make a man sinful to eat with hands that have not been washed.”"

From Genesis, the Word of God teaches us how Satan has used his cunning to seduce us always by showing the bad as good but clearly its purpose is to try to cause us frustration, restlessness, sadness or some prejudice until it leads us to destruction. Let's not forget that his plan is clear, concise, concrete and accurate ... "The robber comes only to steal and to kill and to destroy..." (John 10: 10a) ... Let us understand that there is no negotiation in this.
That's right, there are no negotiations on this because "... He has been a killer from the beginning. The devil has nothing to do with the truth. There is no truth in him. It is expected of the devil to lie, for he is a liar and the father of lies." (John 8: 44b)
Therefore, if Satan is a murderer and is the father of the lie, why should we consider listening to Satan's offers or worse, to do them?
Let us read the reason ... "It is no surprise! The devil makes himself look like an angel of light. 15 And so it is no surprise if his servants also make themselves look like preachers of the Good News. They and their work will come to the same end." (2 Corinthians 11: 14-15)
But how is it possible that we do not realize?
"There is much we could say about this, but it is hard to make you understand. It is because you do not want to hear well. By now you should be teachers. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the first things you need to know from God’s Word. You still need milk instead of solid food. Anyone who lives on milk cannot understand the teaching about being right with God. He is a baby. Solid food is for full-grown men. They have learned to use their minds to tell the difference between good and bad."(Hebrews 5: 11-14) ... 3 reasons:
1. We do not want to hear the Word of God: that is, we lack faith ... "So then, faith comes to us by hearing the Good News. And the Good News comes by someone preaching it." (Romans 10:17) Without faith there is not shield. "Most important of all, you need a covering of faith in front of you. This is to put out the fire-arrows of the devil." (Ephesians 6:16) ... An easy target!
2. "By now you should be teachers. Instead, you need someone to teach you again the first things you need to know from God’s Word": it is vital for every child of God to read, meditate, scrutinize and learn the Word of God ... "The covering for your head is that you have been saved from the punishment of sin. Take the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God." (Ephesians 6:17) ... a grave problem without a shield and without a sword!
3. "Solid food is for full-grown men. They have learned to use their minds to tell the difference between good and bad.": Discernment is the ability to differentiate the good from the bad, which is correct and that it is not, is the capacity for moral judgment regarding what we perceive ... Without discernment we are really confused! ...
Without shield, without sword and confused ... Are we still ask how it is that we do not realize?!!
