Are we masochists? (Part I)
2 Peter 2: 21-22
"After knowing the holy Law that was given to them, they turned from it. It would have been better for them if they had not known how to be right with God. They are like the wise saying, “A dog turns back to what he has thrown up.” And, “A pig that has been washed goes back to roll in the mud.”"

Before starting this topic it is necessary to know that:
1. God always desires our well-being ... "For I know the plans I have for you,’ says the Lord, ‘plans for well-being and not for trouble, to give you a future and a hope." (Jeremiah 29:11) "Dear friend, I pray that you are doing well in every way. I pray that your body is strong and well even as your soul is." (3 John 1: 2)
2. God will never lead us to the path of error, God does not want anyone to be lost! ... "The Lord is not slow about keeping His promise as some people think. He is waiting for you. The Lord does not want any person to be punished forever. He wants all people to be sorry for their sins and turn from them." (2 Peter 3: 9), "My Christian friends, you have obeyed me when I was with you. You have obeyed even more when I have been away. You must keep on working to show you have been saved from the punishment of sin. Be afraid that you may not please God. He is working in you. God is helping you obey Him. God is doing what He wants done in you." (Philippians 2: 12-13).
3. God allows us to pass processes for the purpose of forming ourselves, acquiring discipline, creating self-control and at the end of everything, making Holiness in us ... never to destroy us! "There is no joy while we are being punished. It is hard to take, but later we can see that good came from it. And it gives us the peace of being right with God." (Hebrews 12:11), "But the fruit that comes from having the Holy Spirit in our lives is: love, joy, peace, not giving up, being kind, being good, having faith, being gentle, and being the boss over our own desires. The Law is not against these things." (Galatians 5: 22-23)
4. It is we who decide to plan evil, to pass and receive harm ... "The man who does not give up when tests come is happy. After the test is over, he will receive the crown of life. God has promised this to those who love Him. When you are tempted to do wrong, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God cannot be tempted. He will never tempt anyone. A man is tempted to do wrong when he lets himself be led by what his bad thoughts tell him to do. When he does what his bad thoughts tell him to do, he sins. When sin completes its work, it brings death." (James 1: 12-15)

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
