If I see bad practices in my environment, should I? What did King Asa do? (Part I)

2 Chronicles 15: 1-2
"The Spirit of God came upon Azariah the son of Oded. Azariah went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with Him. If you look for Him, He will let you find Him. But if you leave Him, He will leave you."

Every day society seeks to submit us to its system making us believe that if we do not practice what others do then we will not be taken into account. Sadly, many of us on several occasions let ourselves be dragged by these ideals, expressions, behaviors and actions adopting them as our own without even measuring whether they are good or bad ... Just because we want to fall well?
We can certainly learn from king Asa in this regard. Let us see that there was around him and in his society:
1. Sodomites (Men who sold the use of their bodies in their religion): In their time there were sodomites everywhere. But what are sodomites? The group of people who practiced what happened in the ancient city of Sodom, Sodomy. What is Sodomy? It is a term commonly used to describe the act of oral or anal sex between people of the same sex, as is the case of homosexuality, but also encapsulates all those who perform sexual acts that go against normal sexual practice, for instance, the sadomasochism.
2. Idolatry: Asherah worship (or as it was called in the days of Joshua, Ashtaroth) "“When you make an altar for the Lord your God, do not put beside it a wooden god like the false goddess Asherah. Do not set up for yourself a pillar for worship that the Lord your God hates."(Deuteronomy 16: 21-22). Who was Asherah or Astaroth? She was known as the goddess of sexuality and fertility, so people with fertility problems participated in several unbridled sex orgies in order to receive the favor of this goddess to be able to beget.
3. Idolatry in his own house: His mother, the Queen, worshiped Asherah.
4. Social problem: "In those times there was no peace for him who went out, or for him who came in. For much trouble came to all the people of the lands. Nation was crushed by nation, and city by city, for God sent every kind of trouble upon them." (2 Chronicles 15: 5-6)
4. And to top it all off: An imminent war against Ethiopia.

And what happened?

To be continued...

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
