¿What do we achieve by praying? (Part II)
James 5:16b
'The prayer from the heart of a man right with God has much power.'5. We obtain healing and forgiveness of sins: "Is anyone among you sick? He should send for the church leaders and they should pray for him. They should pour oil on him in the name of the Lord. The prayer given in faith will heal the sick man, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has sinned, he will be forgiven." (James 5:14-15)
6. We obtain provision: "There were about five thousand men. Jesus said to His followers, “Have them sit down in groups of fifty people.” They did as He told them. They made all of the people sit down. As Jesus took the five loaves of bread and two fish, He looked up to heaven and gave thanks. He broke them in pieces and gave them to His followers to give to the people. They all ate and were filled. They picked up twelve baskets full of pieces of bread and fish after the people finished eating." (Luke 9:14-17)
7. We learn to love our fellow men: "“You have heard that it has been said, ‘You must love your neighbor and hate those who hate you.’ But I tell you, love those who hate you. (*Respect and give thanks for those who say bad things to you. Do good to those who hate you.) Pray for those who do bad things to you and who make it hard for you. Then you may be the sons of your Father Who is in heaven. His sun shines on bad people and on good people. He sends rain on those who are right with God and on those who are not right with God. If you love those who love you, what reward can you expect from that? Do not even the tax-gatherers do that? If you say hello only to the people you like, are you doing any more than others? The people who do not know God do that much. You must be perfect as your Father in heaven is perfect." (Matthew 5:43-48)
8. We learn to speak as God speaks: "Dear friend, I pray that you are doing well in every way. I pray that your body is strong and well even as your soul is." (3 John 1:2).
We will have already realized that with prayer we achieve everything we long for (As long as it is according to the will of God): "“Would any of you fathers give your son a stone if he asked for bread? Or would you give a snake if he asked for a fish? Or if he asked for an egg, would you give him a small animal with a sting of poison? You are sinful and you know how to give good things to your children. How much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”" (Luke 11:11-13)
"Jesus said to them, “For sure, I tell you this: If you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only be able to do what was done to the fig tree. You will also be able to say to this mountain, ‘Move from here and be thrown into the sea,’ and it will be done. All things you ask for in prayer, you will receive if you have faith.”" (Matthew 21:21-22)
And the best thing about it is that we can pray at all times, everywhere, in any kind of circumstance that we are passing (good thing or bad thing) and by others!
I can not wait! Rather, ¿do you know anything else that we can achieve? If so, then ¿what are you waiting? Let's not delay!
God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
