¿Do you feel like the ugly duckling?
1 Samuel 16:6-7
'When they had come, Samuel looked at Eliab and thought, “For sure he is the Lord’s chosen one who is standing before Him.” But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at the way he looks on the outside or how tall he is, because I have not chosen him. For the Lord does not look at the things man looks at. A man looks at the outside of a person, but the Lord looks at the heart.”'We have heard how society has said these and many things more of us.
The sad thing is not that, but else when we take all those words, and we open our hearts and accept them as an absolute truth, we ending up with complexes and feelings of defeat ... we are not even able to go to the Bible to see what God says about it.
1. ¿Beautifulness? Bah! The Jehovah's fear is better:
'Pleasing ways lie and beauty comes to nothing, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised.' (Proverbs 31:30)
2. ¿Beautifulness? Bah! It is not what we wear, but else the state of our heart:
'Do not let your beauty come from the outside. It should not be the way you comb your hair or the wearing of gold or the wearing of fine clothes. Your beauty should come from the inside. It should come from the heart. This is the kind that lasts. Your beauty should be a gentle and quiet spirit. In God’s sight this is of great worth and no amount of money can buy it.' (1 Peter 3:3-4)
3. ¿Beautifulness? Bah! I am a crown of glory in the Jehovah's hand!!:
'You will be a crown of beauty in the hand of the Lord, a king’s crown in the hand of your God.' (Isaiah 62:3)
'He grew up before Him like a young plant, and like a root out of dry ground. He has no beautiful body and when we see Him there is no beauty that we should desire Him. He was hated and men would have nothing to do with Him, a man of sorrows and suffering, knowing sadness well. We hid, as it were, our faces from Him. He was hated, and we did not think well of Him.' (Isaiah 53:2-3)
5. ¿Beautifulness? Bah! Let's read this:
'This is the reason we do not give up. Our human body is wearing out. But our spirits are getting stronger every day. The little troubles we suffer now for a short time are making us ready for the great things God is going to give us forever. We do not look at the things that can be seen. We look at the things that cannot be seen. The things that can be seen will come to an end. But the things that cannot be seen will last forever.' (2 Corinthians 4:16-18)
God created us unique and unrepeatable!
For you and me, Beautifulness ... must be to reach the stature of the perfect male (Ephesians 4:13)
¿Will we remain thinking what the people say or we meditate on what God tells us?
God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
