But ¿Just a plate of lentils ??!!
Hebrews 12:15-17
"See that no one misses God’s loving-favor. Do not let wrong thoughts about others get started among you. If you do, many people will be turned to a life of sin. None of you should fall into sex sins or forget God like Esau did. He had a right to get all Isaac had because he was the oldest son. But for one plate of food he sold this right to his brother. You know that later he would have received everything. But he did not get it even when he asked for it with tears. It was too late to make right the wrong he had done."
The Word of God says that we have been adopted by the Lord, we are His children and therefore we are all joint heirs:
'All those who are led by the Holy Spirit are sons of God. You should not act like people who are owned by someone. They are always afraid. Instead, the Holy Spirit makes us His sons, and we can call to Him, “My Father.” For the Holy Spirit speaks to us and tells our spirit that we are children of God. If we are children of God, we will receive everything He has promised us. We will share with Christ all the things God has given to Him. But we must share His suffering if we are to share His shining-greatness.' (Romans 8:14-17)
Therefore God has given us:
'I gave them the honor You gave Me that they may be one as We are One. I am in them and You are in Me so they may be one and be made perfect. Then the world may know that You sent Me and that You love them as You love Me. “Father, I want My followers You gave Me to be with Me where I am. Then they may see My shining-greatness which You gave Me because You loved Me before the world was made.' (John 17:22-24)
We have also been:
'Let us honor and thank the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He has already given us a taste of what heaven is like. Even before the world was made, God chose us for Himself because of His love. He planned that we should be holy and without blame as He sees us. God already planned to have us as His own children. This was done by Jesus Christ. In His plan God wanted this done. We thank God for His loving-favor to us. He gave this loving-favor to us through His much-loved Son. Because of the blood of Christ, we are bought and made free from the punishment of sin. And because of His blood, our sins are forgiven. His loving-favor to us is so rich. He was so willing to give all of this to us. He did this with wisdom and understanding. God told us the secret of what He wanted to do. It is this: In loving thought He planned long ago to send Christ into the world. The plan was for Christ to gather us all together at the right time. If we are in heaven or still on earth, He will bring us together and will be head over all. We were already chosen to be God’s own children by Christ. This was done just like the plan He had. We who were the first to put our trust in Christ should thank Him for His greatness. The truth is the Good News. When you heard the truth, you put your trust in Christ. Then God marked you by giving you His Holy Spirit as a promise. The Holy Spirit was given to us as a promise that we will receive everything God has for us. God’s Spirit will be with us until God finishes His work of making us complete. God does this to show His shining-greatness.' (Ephesians 1:3-14)
Wow! Without words what Dad wants from us!!
However, our common enemy wishes to confuse us:
"Keep awake! Watch at all times. The devil is working against you. He is walking around like a hungry lion with his mouth open. He is looking for someone to eat. Stand against him and be strong in your faith. Remember, other Christians over all the world are suffering the same as you are. After you have suffered for awhile, God Himself will make you perfect. He will keep you in the right way. He will give you strength. He is the God of all loving-favor and has called you through Christ Jesus to share His shining-greatness forever." (1 Peter 5:8-10)
Keep Holiness, keep holiness:
"So lift up your hands that have been weak. Stand up on your weak legs. Walk straight ahead so the weak leg will not be turned aside, but will be healed. Be at peace with all men. Live a holy life. No one will see the Lord without having that kind of life." (Hebrews 12:12-14)
¿What are we doing today?
Like Esau ¿Will we give all God given us for a plate of lentils (taste a sin) and then yearn for them with tears?
or
¿Shall we walk in holiness as children of the King of Kings not exchanging our life for sin (plate of lentils)?
