¿Are we offering strange fire to God?

Leviticus 10:1-2
'Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abihu, each took his fire pan, put fire in it, and put special perfume on it. They gave a fire that was not holy to the Lord because the Lord had not told them to do this. So the Lord sent out fire that burned them up and they died before the Lord.'

Formerly, Aaron and his sons were a priestly family to offer burnt offerings for the atonement of the Israel people. Jehovah had been precise and detailed in giving these instructions to the family of Aaron as well as prohibitions ... "Do not give upon this altar any perfume, burnt gift or grain gift that is not holy. And do not pour out a drink gift on it." (Exodus 30:9).
Today we are "...  a chosen group of people. You are the King’s religious leaders. You are a holy nation. You belong to God. He has done this for you so you can tell others how God has called you out of darkness into His great light." (1 Peter 2:9). Yes, we are King’s religious leaders but not to seek to serve the Lord according by own way, trying to change God's standards to the standards of men, when the Lord demands of us obedience ... "Obey the Word of God. If you hear only and do not act, you are only fooling yourself. Anyone who hears the Word of God and does not obey is like a man looking at his face in a mirror. After he sees himself and goes away, he forgets what he looks like. But the one who keeps looking into God’s perfect Law and does not forget it will do what it says and be happy as he does it. God’s Word makes men free." (James 1:22-25)

¿Has God called us to give him strange fire? Was it not to us that we were told to take every thought captive to obedience to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5)? Obedience!
And not only that ... We have been given authority to understand that we have a great responsibility "... He has done this for you so you can tell others how God has called you out of darkness into His great light." (1 Peter 2:9b)
"All these many people who have had faith in God are around us like a cloud. Let us put every thing out of our lives that keeps us from doing what we should. Let us keep running in the race that God has planned for us." (Hebrews 12:1). All disobedience is a sin!
But ... ¿Have we thought how many people around us are watching us as we take that delegated authority to do bad things and not what God has commanded us? ¿Have we thought that we would end up being for these people ... stumbling blocks?
"...be careful that this does not hurt a weak Christian." (1 Corinthians 8:9b)
We forget that abusing that delegated authority to do anything other than what God has commanded us would mean being a stumbling block for so many people who are seeing and coming to us with hunger and thirst for the Lord. And if we have forgotten, "The Lord is slow to anger and great in power. The Lord will be sure to punish the guilty." (Nahum 1:3a) "For we know God said, “I will pay back what is coming to them.” And, “The Lord will judge His people.” The very worst thing that can happen to a man is to fall into the hands of the living God!" (Hebrews 10:30-31)
Be careful, we can not adapt God's standards to our convenience, since God has given instructions and this can not and should not be changed.
Let us analyze our way of serving the Lord ... lest we find ourselves offering strange fire like Nadab and Abihu.

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
