¿Are children of God or not?

Hebrews 10:29-31

“Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will he be thought worthy who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, counted the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified a common thing, and insulted the Spirit of grace? For we know Him who said, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord. And again, “The Lord will judge His people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.”

When we were little our parents told us a story called The Shepherd Boy and The Wolf, this boy who delighted in lying again and again, one day the people did not believe him anymore, so when the shepherd boy really needed the help of others, they did not help him and it was too late. The same thing happens when we forgot  after having been healed, restored, renewed and washed, we decide to go back to the mud, denying the redemptive work that the Lord did in us (Matthew 10:33).

“For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.”” (2 Pedro 2:20-22)

Bible says “But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.” (Romanos 14:9)

It is easy to be identified us by the Lord when "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God." (Romans 8:14).

In summarize, if we are truly converted, then we must have the Holy Spirit in us!

Today is good to clarify whether we are children of God or not ... It is impossible for us to deceive the Lord with appearances!

What do we say? Life like the shepherd boy or we have the Holy Spirit and He verify we are children?

“Now when they heard this, they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Men and brethren, what shall we do?” Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” (Hechos 2:37-38)
