Instructing the children ... For what?

Proverbs 19:18
Chasten your son while there is hope, And do not set your heart on his destruction.

When a child lacks standards, when he has no instructions, when everything is permissible without restrictions, when he does not know the word "No" ... This son will grow, with problem between debauchery and freedom, making the disrespect like his law and we will not delay in to notice how it will be part of the many bad situations that we see today by news.
He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, Both of them alike are an abomination to the Lord. Why is there in the hand of a fool the purchase price of wisdom, Since he has no heart for it?” (Proverbs 17:15-16) Will be have any profit for us ?
So... What shall we do? "“... these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up."(Deuteronomy 6:6-7).
The Lord has entrusted us with the beautiful work of instructing our children through the Bible. But for what?
1. That he may learn to be wise: "... A wise son makes a glad father, But a foolish son is the grief of his mother." (Proverbs 10:1)
2. That he may learn to fear Lord: "Then you will understand the fear of the Lord, And find the knowledge of God. For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding; He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk uprightly; He guards the paths of justice, And preserves the way of His saints. Then you will understand righteousness and justice, Equity and every good path." (Proverbs 2: 5-9), "The fear of the Lord leads to life, And he who has it will abide in satisfaction; He will not be visited with evil." (Proverbs 19:23)
3. Lest a son be not make you ashamed : "The rod and rebuke give wisdom, But a child left to himself brings shame to his mother. When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increases; But the righteous will see their fall. Correct your son, and he will give you rest; Yes, he will give delight to your soul." (Proverbs 29: 15-17), "He who mistreats his father and chases away his mother Is a son who causes shame and brings reproach." (Proverbs 19:26)
4. That he may be your joy: "A wise son makes a father glad, But a foolish man despises his mother.  Folly is joy to him who is destitute of discernment, But a man of understanding walks uprightly. Without counsel, plans go awry, But in the multitude of counselors they are established."(Proverbs 15: 20-22)
5. So that tomorrow when your child has problems, He will knows to do: "How sweet are Your words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! Through Your precepts I get understanding; Therefore I hate every false way. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path."(Psalm 119:103-105)
6. That he may not be a cause for you to be sick: "A foolish son is a grief to his father, And bitterness to her who bore him." (Proverbs 17:25)
7. In order to he can discernment: "Whoever robs his father or his mother, And says, “It is no transgression,” The same is companion to a destroyer." (Proverbs 28:24)
8. That he may learn to love Lord and to respect his fellow men: "“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?” Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”"(Matthew 22: 36-40)
9. That he may understand that when you punish him, you do it because something he has done wrong, therefore you must correct it because you love him: "He who spares his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him promptly." (Proverbs 13:24), "Chasten your son while there is hope..." (Proverbs 19:18a), "Do not withhold correction from a child, For if you beat him with a rod, he will not die. You shall beat him with a rod, And deliver his soul from hell."(Proverbs 23: 13-14)
Any questions?

The work is not of the grandparents, the role is not of the neighbor, the role is not of a school nor much less of the society ... The role, the job, shall be done by father and mother. Let us no longer delegate this beautiful work. Maybe tomorrow will be late!
So ... ¿Will we instruct and correct our children as long as there is hope?

God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
