¿Are we with sexual immorality? ¿Fornication and adultery?
Proverbs 7:21-23
“She leads him away with her tempting talk. She tempts him with the smooth words of her lips. All at once he follows her, like a bull going to be killed, like a wild animal goes into a trap, until an arrow cuts through him. Like a bird that hurries into the net, he does not know that he will lose his life.”
This is a devil's weapon so well designed with a terrorific purpose... destroy! (John 10:10a)
Let us see what is the way of this sin:
1. The duty of adultery is attack all married people and the duty of fornication is attack all non-married people, but only people lack of understanding fall at their feet: "My son, keep my words, and hold together my teachings within you. Keep my words and live. Keep my teachings as you would your own eye. Tie them upon your fingers. Write them upon your heart. Say to wisdom, “You are my sister.” Call understanding your special friend. They will keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger with her smooth words. For I looked out through the wood-work at the window of my house. And I saw among the child-like and among the young people a young man without wisdom and understanding. He passed through the street near her corner and took the path to her house"(Proverbs 7: 1-8). Bible says "Keep my words!" "Keep my commandments and live!" "Write them upon your heart!" ... It does not matter if we are pastors, evangelists, singers, leaders or listeners ... If we do not have a relationship with God, we do not meditate on Bible, we do not pray and we do not fast, then we can not discern what is good and bad, so we will quickly pass to spiritual coldness and we will finish being a direct target of the enemy! Bible is Lamp that our feet need!
Let's wake up! "The devil is working against you. He is walking around like a hungry lion with his mouth open. He is looking for someone to eat." (1 Peter 5:8)! The enemy's job is to rob us, kill us and destroy us, so he will want to give us what we want to hear until we start to dig a deep hole and we don't realize it we are falling into it and that deep hole has a snake that wait us to bite us! (Ecclesiastes 10: 8)
How naive we are to think that we can be friends with the enemy !!
3. Having fulfilled the above, the snake injects its venom of destruction to our couple, our children (offspring) and our environment: "All at once he follows her, like a bull going to be killed, like a wild animal goes into a trap, until an arrow cuts through him. Like a bird that hurries into the net, he does not know that he will lose his life. So, my sons, listen to me. Listen to the words of my mouth. Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways. Do not turn aside into her paths. For she has hurt many and destroyed many others. She has killed a great number."… Everything has a transaction, to get a product we pay for it, we give the money and we receive the product... Imagine for a moment this transaction: We deliver our land where there are trees of all kinds, has a stream with fish and the land is suitable for planting, we deliver all this for the currency of less value of our country. Does it seem appropriate? Have we ever wondered what kind of transaction takes place at the time we commit adultery and fornication? The transaction is that we receive an instant of pleasure but we deliver the keys of our trust, our life, our goods, our relationship as a couple, our whole family, our children and our offspring. Good transaction, right? It does not matter how much reputation, how wise we are, how honorable we are, how many things we do ... Bible wants to inform us that "Dead flies make a perfume maker’s oil smell bad. So does acting a little foolish weigh more than wisdom and honor."(Ecclesiastes 10:1)
Bible gives us the key:
"My son, keep my words, and hold together my teachings within you. Keep my words and live. Keep my teachings as you would your own eye. Tie them upon your fingers. Write them upon your heart. Say to wisdom, “You are my sister.” Call understanding your special friend. They will keep you from the strange woman, from the stranger with her smooth words."(Proverbs 7:1-5)
This leads us to ask ourselves:
How are we in prayer? Are we in meditating on the Word of God? Are we follow the Lord in fasting? Are we fulfilling its precepts and statutes?
