Let's move !! (Part I)
Hebrews 6:11-12
“We want each one of you to keep on working to the end. Then what you hope for, will happen. Do not be lazy. Be like those who have faith and have not given up. They will receive what God has promised them.”
“We want each one of you to keep on working to the end. Then what you hope for, will happen. Do not be lazy. Be like those who have faith and have not given up. They will receive what God has promised them.”
There are some who stay in the usual phrase of "God bless you" and are stay to wait for things, but there are others who go further and take control of the gifts and talents that the Lord endowed them, they appropriated the Word of Faith that says the Bible and they decided to live it, achieving all that they long for, in fact, they are never satisfied ... They always want more!
But why does this happen?
Let us read ... "Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come near to me.” So all the people came near to him. And he built again the altar of the Lord which had been torn down. Then Elijah took twelve stones, by the number of the families of Jacob’s sons. The word of the Lord had come to Jacob’s sons, saying, “Israel will be your name.” With the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord. And he made a ditch around the altar, big enough to hold twenty-two jars of seed. Then he set the wood in place. He cut the bull in pieces and laid it on the wood. And he said, “Fill four jars with water and pour it on the burnt gift and on the wood.” Then he said, “Do it a second time.” And they did it a second time. He said, “Do it a third time.” And they did it a third time. The water flowed around the altar, and filled the ditch also. Then the time came for giving the evening gift. Elijah the man who spoke for God came near and said, “O Lord, God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that You are God in Israel. Let it be known that I am Your servant, and have done all these things at Your word. Answer me, O Lord. Answer me so these people may know that You, O Lord, are God. Turn their hearts to You again.” Then the fire of the Lord fell. It burned up the burnt gift, the wood, the stones and the dust. And it picked up the water that was in the ditch. All the people fell on their faces when they saw it. They said, “The Lord, He is God. The Lord, He is God.”" (1 Kings 18: 30-39).
This leads us to focus 3 main ideas:
1. Elijah saw the altar of God torn down: To understand the concept of altar, the Word of God teaches us that it is a place that was erected with the purpose of offering sacrifice to God, either by gratitude (Genesis 8:20), or because one wanted to invoke the name of God (Genesis 12: 7-8, Genesis 26:25), or yearned to establish a commitment to God (Joshua 8: 30-35) ... however, let's read ... "Come to Christ as to a living stone. Men have put Him aside, but He was chosen by God and is of great worth in the sight of God. You are to be as living stones in the building God is making also. You are His religious leaders giving yourselves to God through Jesus Christ. This kind of gift pleases God." (1 Peter 2: 4-5) ... Today, we are God's altars to offer Him cry, fellowship, thanksgiving, obedience, commitment, integrity and holiness walking in His presence ... Spiritual sacrifices through Jesus Christ! But this leads us to ask ourselves, in what state is our altar to God? How is our prayer life?
To be continued...
God bless you and have an excellent day in Christ Jesus!
